A sumptuous setting in front of the Château de Chantilly with an important sport stake, here is the reason why the best riders in the world never want to miss the Jumping International de Chantilly. Tenth step of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the Cantilien postcard decor is preparing to welcome, from July 13th to 16th, an impressive riders list comprised of twelve Olympic medalists.

Chantilly, capital of the horse, often described as one of the most beautiful leg of the summer circuit, the Longines Global Champions Tour, thanks to its breathtaking historical context, will be the scene of one of the  most expected sport event. Not less than eight of the ten best riders in the world will be in Chantilly to enjoy the huge grass arena of the Arène Meautry for the eleventh edition, seventh as a leg of the LGCT. It’s also the last French step of that circuit which takes place over fourth continents. Twelve Olympic medalists
If the circuit created by Jan Tops is used to attract many renowned riders, a start list with twelve Olympic medalists is rare enough to be highlighted. Indeed, champions seem to have made an particular appointment of Chantilly, started by our French medalists of Rio Pénélope Leprevost, Roger-Yves Bost, Philippe Rozier and Kevin Staut. But Germany will also be represented by Christian Ahlmann, Marcus Ehning and Ludger Beerbaum, Sweden by Peder Fredricson and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, Canada by Eric Lamaze or Great-Britain by Ben Maherand Scott Brash. Olympic « Heroes » to whom will be added some big names of the international circuit such as Maikel Van der Vleuten, Olivier and Nicola Philippaerts, Bertram Allen, Gregory Wathelet, Luciana Diniz, Jérôme Guéry or Julien Epaillard, beautiful winner of Paris last weekend.

The Jumping International de Chantilly will also welcome some French and international celebrities. This year Caesarized actor and director Marina Hands and Guillaume Canet evolve in amateur classes. The public could also cheer on those young riders who are making a name in the high level sport like Jessica Springsteen, the « Boss » daughter, the young Jenifer Gates or the Greek Athina Onassis.

Every day its highlight
Thursday will be a test with a 2* class, a young horses and the warm up for the 5* riders before the real beginning of the competition on Friday, July 14th. Each day will be punctuated by a major event : the first round of the Global Champions League will close the Friday then will end on Saturday in the middle of the afternoon. The Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix will or course be the Saturday major event, in the evening like the Master Del Monte & Région Hauts de France, last class of the weekend, will be the Sunday one.

Breathtaking competitions, but also a sumptuous place, the Arène Meautry and the Amphithéâtre de verdure, surrounded by the majestic Great Stables, built in the XVIIIth century, and the Duc d’Aumale Castle.

A not to miss appointment, especially because the entrance to this exceptional event is free, to allow as many people as possible to access this fascinating sport and to discover it by attending competitions and strolling through the village of exhibitors and artists, like a small “Salon du cheval” comprising about fifty stands.
