Mary Bahniuk Lauritsen Wins Custom Saddlery’s Most Valuable Rider (MVR) Award at Gold Coast Dressage Opener CDI
Wellington, FL (January 25, 2013) – Custom Saddlery was proud to present Mary Bahniuk Lauritsen with the Most Valuable Rider (MVR) award for her first place with the 8-year old Dutch Warmblood, Ansgar (x Special D), in the USEF Developing Horse Prix St. Georges at the Gold Coast Dressage Association Opener Festival. Lauritsen was excited to earn a 67.206% aboard Ansgar and stated, “We’re still working on the pirouettes, because there are still more points for us to get in that test. But, it’s only getting better!” Lauritsen was presented with a saddlepad embroidered with Custom’s logo and the MVR ribbon.
Lauritsen is the assistant trainer at Windhorse Dressage out of Stonehenge Farm in Dover, Massachussetts. She has been working with Ansgar, who is owned by Nicole Polaski, for 2 years, and they are in Florida for 5 months during the winter season. “He’s a very exciting young horse,” she describes. “He really takes me in the extensions, which is probably the most exciting thing to watch, but he also has incredible flying changes.” Lauritsen continues, “He just really loves to show, so when I get in the ring, there’s this whole new horse as soon as we go down centerline. He’s definitely a showman!” Lauritsen also explains that she’s had the opportunity to ride in Custom Saddles at Windhorse. “I find Custom Saddles very comfortable and the horses seem to be really happy in them as well,” she says.
Custom Saddlery MVR awards will continue to be presented at select shows throughout the winter season.
