Everglades Dressage Young Rider Achievement Award Goes to Maria Alejandra Aponte

Wellington, FL (March 29, 2013) – Everglades Dressage is dedicated to supporting and recognizing junior and young riders on the Florida circuit, and recently presented 16-yea-old, Maria Aljandra Aponte with the Everglades Dressage Junior/Young Rider Achievement Award, recognizing her poise and outstanding horsemanship during the WEF Florida Dressage Classic CDI-3* in Wellington, FL. Aponte, who is originally from Colombia and now lives in Wellington, rode her newly acquired mare, Royal Angel, in the Junior Riders class. Aponte has only been riding Royal Angel for 3 months, yet she was so poised in the warm up, and in her class, that she was selected to win the Junior/Young Rider Achievement Award. “We are just getting to know each other,” said Aponte about her new horse, “but she’s doing really well!”

Royal Angel is a 10-year-old Rheinlander by Royal Diamond and out of Felicitas. Aponte has been training with Patrick Persons, and is looking forward to continuing to learn and move up through the levels throughout the 2013 season. Aponte won a beautiful embroidered saddle pad from Everglades Farm as a part of the Young Rider Achievement Award.
