Triple Crown® Nutrition Hosts Winter Equestrian Festival Annual Season Kick Off Party
And Honors Michael Klimke, a True Triple Crown Winner
The 2019 winter show season in Wellington, Florida kicked off in style with Triple Crown Nutrition mixing things up this year and exceeding everyone’s expectations with parties, refreshment bars and sponsorships, resulting in the world’s best equestrians gathering together around Florida fun and horses. Starting things off on Tuesday, Jan. 8, was the Triple Crown 2019 Season Kick Off Mixer held at the Wellington Club on the PBIEC Grounds. As usual, this was the party of the season and the place to be seen amongst the best in the world in all areas of high performance equestrian sport. Orchestrated by Craig Bernstein, Triple Crown Nutrition regional sales manager, for the 10th year in a row, the event was well attended by people from all disciplines including polo, hunter jumper, dressage, and even some western riders joining the fun. This mixer was extra special because it included an invitation to US Equestrian members who were attending the annual US Equestrian Federation Annual meeting in West Palm Beach.
Surrounded by great food, refreshments, friends, and live music with equestrian’s favorite vocalist, Michael Boone, Triple Crown announced the Triple Crown People’s Choice Equestrian of the Season Contest. This exciting contest runs all season and offers the chance for an outstanding equestrian to win a commemorative four-seat golf cart. This contest provides everyone the chance to recognize an outstanding equestrian, and learn more about the many benefits of feeding Triple Crown products to their beloved horses. Ballot boxes can be found at the show offices of the Winter Equestrian Festival and the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival. Additionally, Gold Coast feed stores, a valued supplier of Triple Crown, will have ballot boxes available at their counter. The contest winner will be announced on March 28th during the Triple Crown Nutrition Lunch & Learn at WEF.
Following the Kick Off Mixer, Triple Crown continued the momentum of merriment on Wednesday when they presented the Helgstrand Dressage 2019 Collection hosted by Dr. Ulf Möller and Andreas & Marianne Helgstrand. Once again, with Bernstein at the helm of planning and Michael Boone providing live music, the festive Florida atmosphere was perfect for guests to enjoy the lovely refreshment bar provided by Triple Crown.
Then on Thursday, as an official partner of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival and in keeping with its commitment to support horse-and-rider combinations dedicated to their sport, excellence in training, and healthy equine development, Triple Crown presented its prestigious Triple Crown Excellence Award to Michael Klimke. Not only did Klimke earn the award for his outstanding ride on Harmony’s Diablo in the FEI CDI 3*Prix St Georges on Thursday with a score of 70.265, the pair ended up sweeping the CDI 3* of Prix St Georges, Intermediate 1, and Intermediate Freestyle making them true Triple Crown winners in every sense.
Triple Crown was thrilled to present the award, which includes a luxurious tri-color ribbon, a classic engraved silver tray, and a certificate for Triple Crown feed to Klimke who is here from Münster, Germany. As the son of world renowned Olympic gold medalist and trainer, Dr. Reiner Klimke, his name is familiar to dressage enthusiasts everywhere. Klimke is here to compete in his fifth winter season in the Florida sun, and is a long time member of Team Harmony Sport Horses with Leslie and John Malone. When he’s back home in Germany, Klimke splits his time between riding and his career as a lawyer.
