Laura Chapot Wins High Peaks Resort 1.40m Jumper Class at Lake Placid Horse Shows
Laura Chapot rode Ginola to victory in the High Peaks Resort 1.40m Jumper Class, Wednesday’s featured event at the 2026 Lake Placid Horse Shows (LPHS), Sponsored by The Bainbridge Companies, LLC, and Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC. Chapot topped a field of 31 horses at the North Elba Showgrounds. The horse shows feature two weeks of world-class competition, June 23-July 5, sanctioned by the U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) and International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
Chapot rode 12th over the 13-effort, first-round course designed by Nick Granat. After going clean, she turned in another clean ride over the eight-effort jump-off course, and her time of 36.328 seconds moved her into the lead. The day’s final entry, Campbell Brown, came closest to beating her, finishing the jump-off clean on Mansini LTD, but with a time of 37.207 seconds to wind up second. Third place went to Sam Walker who finished the jump-off clean in 37.477 seconds on Sanchez K.
In Hunter competition, Four Aces, owned by Marita Zuraitis and shown by David Wilbur, took the Championship in the 3’6” High Performance/Performance Hunter Division. In the Conformation Division, Valencio, owned by Frances Moppett and shown by Amanda Steege, won the Championship after sweeping the division
