“I’m ready to make this a habit,” grinned Andrew Alvidrez, after the Seminole, Texas cowboy earned his second consecutive Unleash The Beast victory, winning the Albany (NY) Invitational at the MVP Arena to overtake the No. 1 rank in the race for the 2023 Professional Bull Riders (PBR) World Championship.Andrew Alvidrez Wins Second Consecutive Unleash The Beast Event to Overtake No. 1 Rank in Race for 2023 PBR World Title #eliteequestrian

“Just focus on the process,” Alvidrez said. “Bull riding has no finish line.” But it does have a leaderboard where, for now, Alvidrez is riding high, having come into Albany fresh off his PBR win the weekend before in Manchester, New Hampshire, and riding with a better than 80% success rate, including covering all six of his last bovine opponents, en route to ranking number one in the world.

“I’m here to win. God has blessed me so much. I’m just there to show his glory,” said the charismatic Texan began, who began his march to the top of the Can-Am Cage in Round 1 going the distance atop Skull Crusher (Shuler Bucking Bulls) for 87.5 points. Positioned second in the qualifier, Alvidrez went head-to-head with Red Mosquito (Cord McCoy/Zach Muegge/McCoy Rodeo) in Round 2. Dancing in perfect harmony with his bullish counterpart, he waltzed into the 8-second whistle to collect 87.75 points.Andrew Alvidrez Wins Second Consecutive Unleash The Beast Event to Overtake No. 1 Rank in Race for 2023 PBR World Title #eliteequestrian

Alvidrez retained his position in the overall event, garnering the second pick in the championship round bull draft, where he architected a rematch with Pickle Moonshine (Shuler Bucking Bulls). Alvidrez had been bucked off this bull in their first showdown during the PBR Team Series event in Oklahoma City, but later covered the powerful animal for a commanding 91 points at the league event in Fort Worth, Texas.

In tonight’s match, Alvidrez dominated Pickle Moonshine for 89.25 points to surge to the lead. For the second weekend in a row, the final rider out was bucked off, and Alvidrez clinched his victory, plus a check for $42,257 and crucial 132.5-points in the Unleash The Beast race.  Coming into Albany ranked No. 4 in the World Championship race, Alvidrez has catapulted to the No. 1 position, and stands 68.5 points ahead of No. 2 ranked Cooper Davis (Jasper, Texas).
