C. Wellie Earns August’s Show Jumping Hall of Fame Horse of the Month Award Sponsored by Lisa Seger Insurance
Heathman Farm LLC’s 11-year-old Zangersheide gelding C. Wellie has earned the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Horse of the Month Award Sponsored by Lisa Seger Insurance for August.
Piloted by Savannah Hemby of Flower Mound, TX (August’s Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month), C. Wellie competes in the Amateur Division of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series’ East Conference Presented by ROOD & RIDDLE. The pair had a busy month of August filled with Top Three finishes in the High Junior/Amateur Jumper divisions at the Great Lakes Equestrian and Blue Grass Festivals. Among their awards were second-place honors in the Blue Grass Festival’s $15,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic and third in the $7,500 Hall of Fame Classic at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival.
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame conducts the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series with classes at approximately 80 horse shows each year. The Series hosts separate divisions for junior and amateur riders in two Conferences – the East Conference presented by Rood & Riddle and the West Conference presented by LAURACEA. The Series culminates in year-end Championships at the National Horse Show in Lexington, Kentucky, and Blenheim EquiSports’ International Jumping Festival in San Juan Capistrano, California. Winners of the Series’ East and West Finals each receive one of LAURACEA’s best-selling Convertible Backpack Totes.
Each month the Series honors one horse that earns the most points in Series competition that month. The Series follows Grand Prix rules and specifications is designed to give amateur and junior riders the opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a proving ground for many riders who aspire to represent the United States in international competition.
