Dale Harvey Joins HITS Team as General Manager of Del Mar Horsepark

HITS LLC is pleased to announce that Dale Harvey will be joining the HITS management team at Del Mar Horsepark. As the founder of West Palms Event Management, Harvey has a long history of running many successful events at Del Mar Horsepark. He will use his expertise to support the team at HITS as they revitalize this historic facility, which is a staple of the West Coast equestrian community. Harvey will be on-site to manage all seven weeks of USEF hunter/jumper competition, which will get underway in July of 2023.

“Dale Harvey has been instrumental in the development of top-level equestrian competition on the West Coast,” noted HITS Chief Customer Officer Joe Norick. “He knows the venue and the clients very well, and we are thrilled to have him join our team as we aim to create the best venue on the West Coast and begin a new chapter in its long history.”

Harvey began his career in the equestrian industry as a professional rider, trainer and course designer before founding West Palms Event Management (WPE) in 2001. WPE has managed over 15 USEF-recognized annual events for the past 20 years, including Del Mar National, Sacramento International Horse Show, Huntington Beach Summer Series, Flintridge Horse Show Series and Harvey managed the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2000 and 2012. The diversity of the venues that WPE currently operates has provided the team with tremendous experience in all phases of event planning and management.

Harvey concluded, “The team at HITS has an incredible vision for Del Mar Horsepark and I am very excited to welcome horses back to this amazing facility this year. It is such an important venue, and its closure over the last two years has truly shown us how vital the Del Mar Horsepark is for both the equestrians and the local community. I am honored to be joining HITS as they reimagine this historic venue.”

Renovations are currently underway at the storied Del Mar Horsepark, and plans are set to reopen the doors in July of 2023 for the first hunter/jumper event of the year. Exhibitors can anticipate an entirely new experience at Del Mar Horsepark for 2023. In addition to major changes throughout the facility, all show arenas will feature state-of-the-art footing, with the main arenas featuring the ebb and flow system. The horses will enjoy bigger stalls, all outfitted with rubber mats, and the park will feature a new, expanded VIP area.

HITS’ return to the West Coast is well underway, and the team looks forward to welcoming exhibitors back to historic Del Mar Horsepark in 2023. For more information about the 2023 HITS Del Mar Series please visit www.HITSShows.com.
