Carly Anthony and Jet Blue Fly into First Place in the $38,700 Delta Airlines FEI 4* Power & Speed Stakes at the Upperville Colt & Horse Show
Presented by MARS Equestrian™
UPPERVILLE, Va., June 7, 2024– On Thursday, Carly Anthony (USA) and Jet Blue took flight to gallop into first place in the $38,700 Delta Airlines FEI 4* Power & Speed Stakes at the 171st Upperville Colt & Horse Show presented by MARS Equestrian™. Ireland’s Nicky Galligan finished second aboard Javas Miss Jordan and Jimmy Torano (USA) was third riding Kochio Z.
“I’ve had Jet Blue for a few years, and he’s done a bit of everything for me, he’s taken me to my first 5 star grand prix and is about as handy as you can get when it comes to speed classes,”said Carly Anthony.
Owned by Portfolio Horses, Jet Blue has been with Anthony since the beginning of his ninth year. “When I need a win, he’s my go to horse!” she said.
Nick Granat’s flowing course presented several options to leave strides out or add strides, per riders’ discretion and last year’s winner, Cathleen Driscoll, took the lead early and held on until Anthony zipped around in 28.4 seconds.
International showjumping competition continues today through Sunday.
