Kaitlin Campbell (USA) pocketed her second win of the week in the $182,000 Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel CSI4* Grand Prix riding Castlefield Cornelious during the Traverse City Spring Series at Flintfields Horse Park.

The Spring Series, presented by Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, continues through June 29 and features three weeks of FEI jumper competition, weekly hunter derbies, including the International Hunter Derby Regional Championships, in addition to the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championships and the Markel/USHJA Platinum & Zone Jumper Team Championships.

Coming off a victory in the $63,000 GFL Environmental CSI4* Welcome Stake aboard Questa vd Heffinck on Friday, Campbell was one of nine to jump clear over tracks built by course designer Peter Grant (CAN) on Traverse City’s iconic Grand Prix Sunday. Breaking the timers in 35.67 seconds with the 14-year-old Oldenburg stallion (Cornet Obolensky x Contender) owned by Mirasol Equestrian, the finish was the first four-star grand prix victory for both Campbell and Castlefield Cornelious.

“To get my first four-star grand prix win on this horse is amazing,” said Campbell, who is based in Temecula, CA, and competed at the 2024 FEI World Cup™ Final in Basel this spring with ‘Colin’. “He’s brought me everywhere and done absolutely everything I could have ever asked of him.”

Campbell pipped Ireland’s Philip McGuane from the top position in the jump-off. He finished the runner-up riding Orphea HQ for owner Evergate Stables in 35.93 seconds. In third, Colombia’s Roberto Teran Tafur posted a time of 36.16 seconds aboard Dez’ Ooktoff, owned in partnership with Maria Camila Gonzalez and Lola Teran.

Of their jump-off round, Campbell noted, “He’s not the fastest horse across the ground, but there was a tight turn from one to two that I caught a seven stride there. A lot of the other people did eight. It was one of those jump-offs where everything came up exactly how I wanted, and the horse was perfect.”

Campbell’s banner week has her sitting atop the Leading Jumper Rider Award standings after two weeks of competition at the 2025 Traverse City Horse Shows.
