Wellington, FL (April 24, 2013) – Kimberly Herslow and her beloved horse, Rosmarin, were hotter than the Florida sunshine during the Adequan Global Dressage Festival Nations Cup in Wellington when they lead Team USA 1 to a first place win and also earned the highest score of the show with a 72.079% at the Prix St Georges. The Horse of Course was excited to present Herslow with the Horse of Course High Score Award for the win, which topped off a fun-filled Florida winter for her and Rosmarin. “It’s been an incredible season for this horse,” smiled Herslow, “This was definitely the high point of our season down here. It was probably our cleanest test, so far, and it’s felt like he has been building up to this point the whole three months we’ve been down here. It was so exciting!” she added about the ride.

Herslow, who owns Upper Creek Farm in Stockton, New Jersey, has owned and trained Rosmarin herself ever since she found him and bought him, along with a client, as a 3-year-old in Germany. Just recently she was excited to have the opportunity to take sole ownership of the gorgeous Hanoverian gelding. Rosmarin, who is by Rosentanz (x Weltmeyer x Ludendorff), is now 8 years old and has grown to 17 hands. “It’s been an amazing journey, and he’s just given me so much back,” she describes. “I just took my time with him as a young horse. He’s very big and very long and he needed the time to kind of develop into himself.” She continued, “So, I spent a lot of time doing basic work, and it’s really paying off now because he physically feels good which helps his confidence to do the hard work, which is coming easier and easier for him.” Herslow also added that it was a great experience to be a part of the Nations Cup gold winning Team USA 1, along with Caroline Roffman, Heather Blitz and Shelly Francis. She won a beautiful saddle pad from The Horse of Course as a part of the High Score Award.

“We love being able to recognize outstanding equestrians with this High Score Award,” explains Beth Haist, owner of The Horse of Course. “It’s so exciting being involved and available at these shows for these amazing riders.” Throughout the 2013 Winter season, The Horse of Course High Score Award recognized weekly winners at the Florida circuit shows including the International Horse Sport Dressage series, the Global Dressage Festival, the Gold Coast Dressage Association, and Wellington Classic Dressage shows. The HOC High Score award was presented to riders achieving the highest score at these selected shows.
