Leah Winston Wins Vita Flex Victory Pass Award at Wellington Classic Fall Challenge Dressage Show

Wellington, FL (September 20, 2012) – Leah Winston and two young horses, Samara and Dublin, received strong praise and outstanding scores from the judges at the Wellington Classic Fall Challenge Dressage show held at the Palm Beach County Jim Brandon Equestrian Center on September 15-16. On Saturday, Winston won the USEF Young Horse Test for 4-Year-Olds, riding Samara with a test score of 67.600%, which also earned them the Vita Flex Victory Pass Award. Samara is a 4-year-old Hanoverian owned by Dr. Lori Minteer of Reflections Farm in Jupiter, FL. She is out of Markova, and her sire, Samarant, is one of Sandro Hit’s most successful offspring, both as a competitor and as a stallion. Named closely after her sire, Samara also has incredible genetics on her dam side from Lady Killer and Matcho.

“My main focus was to show off the beautiful gaits she has,” commented Winston about the test. “The judges’ comments about her being a very modern and elegant horse make things even more positive for the future.” In addition, Winston also competed in the Materiale Three Year Old Colt/Gelding, riding Dublin, a black and white colt by Dauphin out of Palma. The Grand Prix horses in his bloodlines include Donnerhall, Feinerstern, Olympic Ferro, and Art Deco. The team earned a score of 73.700% in this class. Then, on Sunday, Winston increased both scores earning a 74.400% for the YH 4-Year-Old on Samara, and riding Dublin again in the Materiale 3-Year-Old, pulled in a whopping 80.500%.

Winston is planning to continue to work very closely with Dr. Minteer and the young horses at Reflection Farm, and the products she received as a part of the Vita Flex Victory Pass Award will play a big part in her work. “I’m very excited to try the Vita-Flex products especially on these young horses,” she states.
