Madison Kondracki Makes her Mark with Karishma K in $24,500 Horseflight Jumper Classic

The final day of competition for Week Six of the HITS Ocala winter Circuit welcomed a wide array of classic competitors in both the hunter and jumper arenas. Having been on a hot streak throughout the entirety of the 2024 circuit, young rider Madison Kondracki claimed another top finish in today’s headlining event –  the $24,500 Horseflight Jumper Classic.

Kondracki was one of the youngest in the field of 34 competitors, but has been steadily racking up wins weekly and is already well in the lead for the series-long $15,000 STX Open Speed Series rankings. She and the nine-year-old KWPN mare (Bacardi II VDL), Karishma K, were one of six pairings that rode both rounds without fault but they were easily the fastest in a time of 34.97 seconds.

“Today’s course was fun even though it wasn’t set for my horse exactly,” Kondracki explained. “She put in a lot of effort today and this has really been a good week for her. We did the Alliant Cup and the STX speed class and I think both of those set her up really well.

“The speed classes had her underneath herself, then we took yesterday off, and today we just put everything together,” she continued. “She’s a specific ride and takes a little more leg at the base, but she gets it done and she got it done today.”

David Raposa cleared the timers in 36.06 seconds on Redfield Farm’s eight-year-old KWPN gelding (Kannan), Lingote De Oro RFB, and Tiffany Hammack produced the third-fastest time, just off the pace in 36.82 seconds, aboard Foxwood Farm’s 11-year-old Zangersheide mare (Glascow W VH Merelsnest), Ghana FS Z.

Classic competitions leading up to the day’s premier event included the $5,000 Pyranha 1.25m Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic where Mira Korber and her 13-year-old Warmblood mare (Southern Pride),Patent Pending 3E, posted the fastest time of 38.23 seconds.

Thirteen pairings made up the starting field in the $7,500 Signature Brands 1.35m Junior/Amateur Classic and five of those entries moved forward to the jump off. Luke Sassi’s time of 42.43 seconds on Marnell Sport Horses’ 14-year-old KWPN mare (Nabab de Reve), MSH Dream Girl, claimed the top call in that class and the arena was then prepped for the $7,500 Premier Sotheby’s 1.45m Junior/Amateur Classic. With Westwind Equine Training Center’s 16-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding (Ogano Sitte), Iliano Van D’Abelendreef, Haley Gassel clocked the fastest and only clear jump off round in 41.06 seconds.
