Morven Park Concludes 41st Annual Fall International Horse Trials

LEESBURG, VA – Morven Park is pleased to announce a successful run of the 41st Annual Fall International Horse Trials, held September 29 – October 1, 2017 at the Morven Park International Equestrian Center. Nearly 330 riders and horses gathered at the Park for an equestrian discipline known as “eventing,” in which each horse and rider combination must compete in dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. Including competitors, volunteers, and spectators, it is estimated that over 750 people were at Morven Park for Horse Trials over the weekend.Morven Park Concludes 41st Annual Fall International Horse Trials elite equestrian magazine #eliteequestrian

The weekend’s big winners included Colleen Rutledge and Covert Rights, who won the CIC3*, while Autumn Schweiss/Oakport Strauss and Holly Payne Caravella/CharmKing won the CIC2* and CIC1*, respectively. Alexandra Knowles and Sound Prospect took home first place in the Advanced division, and Daniel Clasing and Galileo WP finished first in the Open Preliminary division.

At this year’s event, Novice through Advanced Horse Trials and CIC1*, CIC2*, and CIC3* competitions were run and featured new cross-country courses designed by the internationally-renowned Mike Etherington-Smith and Tremaine Cooper. As always, one of the highlights of the event was Morven Park’s famously scenic cross-country course. On Saturday, the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees hosted a tailgate for donors, sponsors and spectators, situated in a prime area for cross-country viewing.Morven Park Concludes 41st Annual Fall International Horse Trials elite equestrian magazine #eliteequestrian
