Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows Continue with Second Week of World-Class Equestrian Competition

The Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows continued Wednesday with a packed schedule of jumpers in the Open and Training divisions and hunters in the Green and Performance divisions. Following a successful Opening Week, September 13-18, the September Horse Shows will host competitions for riders of all levels and ages, from young riders on ponies to Olympic veterans with their up-and-coming mounts, during their USEF Premier-2 show September 20-24 and USEF National-2 show September 28-October 2.

There were some familiar faces in the Old Salem Farm International Arena during Wednesday’s 1.30m Open Jumper class, including cousins Mark and Daniel Bluman, whose Bluman Equestrian is based just up the road in North Salem. Fellow Grand Prix rider Brianne Goutal-Marteau, who had a strong showing in both the hunter and jumper rings during Opening Week, was also on site.

Upcoming highlights include Junior, Amateur and Pony Hunter divisions, as well as equitation and jumper classes at all levels. Old Salem Farm will also host a $10,000 Old Salem Farm 1.35m Jumper Classic on Friday, September 23, and the $5,000 Old Salem Farm Hunter Derby presented by Beval Saddlery, $1,000 Child/Adult Hunter Derby, and $1,500 Old Salem Farm Pony Hunter Derby on Saturday, September 24.
