Oliva
For the horses and riders of The meeco Equestrian Team, the show jumping season 2019 continued at the Equestrian Centre Oliva Nova in the province of Valencia. From March 15th until March 17th, The meeco Equestrian Team, backed by their sponsor, the global solar provider The meeco Group, participated in the CSI 1* and 2* event Spring MET 2019. The Holstein mare OurSun Queeny Rubin showed an outstanding performance during this Mediterranean Equestrian Tour and in three days jumped to two victories and a second rank in the 1.30 m classes.
On Friday, 15th of March, OurSun Queeny Rubin participated in the Bronze 3 1.30 m class, a Fault and Time competition, where only 12 riders got placed. This challenging course consisted of 11 obstacles each with a height of 1.30 m and a total length of 445 m. In the Valencia arena, the Holstein mare jumped a faultless run and had the fastest time of all 47 participants. This great performance was honored with the victory in this class and the Trofeo Emiralia Horse Corporation.
The next day, OurSun Queeny Rubin jumped in the huge Oliva Nova Arena. The Bronze 3 1.30 m class was split into two phases, two runs each with 6 obstacles. Out of the 66 horses in this class, the Holstein mare had a remarkable faultless first run and as a result was one of the horses to compete for the victory. The mare jumped again with an excellent time and stayed in the lead almost until the end of the class only to be beaten by the second last rider by less than a second, thus securing an excellent second place in the end.
But the best was still to come! On the next and last day OurSun Queeny Rubin was in perfect shape once more. In the Bronze 3 1.30 m time challenge at the Oliva Arena, she competed for the Trofeo CHG Construcciones Hispano Germanas S.A against 55 other international participants. The 510 m long course consisting of 1.30 m high obstacles was challenging, nevertheless Queeny Rubin was able to live up to and repeat again her outstanding
performances from the days before. The Holstein mare jumped a beautiful, clear and fast round and secured the first rank within the field of 56 horses by the incredibly large margin of 5 seconds to the next rider.
The Spring MET 2019 was a great success for The meeco Equestrian Team. “Especially OurSun Queeny Rubin showed quite a dominant and impressive performance in her classes,” stated the proud coach Pedro Sánchez Aleman after the event. “And not to forget the other participants of our team, who did a very good job. OurSun Crusanna, Sun2safe Cassara and OurSun Cariana competed well in higher classes like Bronze 2 and Gold 1 and 2, foremost Sun2safe Cassara jumping to a very good 6th place in her class.”
