A few years ago, it became apparent that someone had to assist the growing number of abandoned and abused horses in the South West Florida area. In order to do our small part, we started PineMeadow Equine Trust Stables. The need was much greater than anticipated and overnight, we found ourselves with a full barn, seven 
horses. Initially, community response was tremendous, but as the economy soured and turned into a full blown recession, well intentioned people who had been helping support PineMeadow found the need to place somewhat different priorities on both their financial resources and time to care for their families. Their attention was rightfully diverted to more pressing matters. Unfortunately, donations of cash, supplies and volunteer time dried up. PineMeadow, though has continued to provide a safe, comfortable and pleasant environment for these animals who had so recently suffered abuse neglect and hunger.
