Wellington, FL (April 3, 2013) – What fictional mystery writer Richard Castle is to devoted TV fans, spine-tingling crime writer Tami Hoag is to her very real-life equestrian community, which is why ShowChic Dressage boutique, located at Wellington’s Taj Mahal Building, will host the New York Times-best selling author and avid dressage rider for its latest edition of ShopTalk, April 9, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m, to learn the stories behind the stories of her latest mystery novels, The 9th Girl, coming out June 18, 2013, and The First Victim, to appear May 7, 2013.

“Please, arrive early and join us for the fun and door prizes,” says ShowChic host, Michele Hundt. “This promises to be a very special evening of talking horses, mystery and of course, shopping and the latest equestrian fashions!”

Riders among Hoag’s readers know she shakes off writer’s block with the help of her dressage horses. In fact, Hoag began her writing career at age nine with a self-published, self-illustrated third-grade ‘bestseller,’ Black Pony, about two children sharing a pony named Smoky that sparked Hoag’s love for storytelling, and set her on a course with destiny, which would be reached in 1988 with Bantam Books’ publication of her first novel, The Trouble With J.J.

With fifteen consecutive Times bestsellers to her credit, including Deeper Than the Dead, Secrets to the Grave, and Prior Bad Acts, Hoag has more than 35 million books in print, published in more than 20 languages worldwide. Her first thriller, Night Sins, was made into a mini-series in 1997, and continues to air on cable networks.

Hosting such a compelling author and equestrienne is another example of ShowChic living up to its motto of ‘putting the rider in first-place,’ inside and outside the arena. ShowChic regularly hosts ShopTalk evenings so lovers of horses and the equestrian lifestyle can enjoy common ground in a casual, fun, and educational atmosphere.

And now that USEF regulations regarding protective headgear have gone into effect, Tuesday evening’s ShopTalk with Tami Hoag is also a perfect chance to shop for the latest in stylish riding helmets. ShowChic Dressage also is an authorized dealer for Pikeur, Cavallo, Animo, Kentucky, Kingsland, and Back on Track, and stocks the latest dressage fashions from these top brands. Michele Hundt of ShowChic Dressage adds, “We love supporting the dressage community and ‘Shop Talk’ has proven to be a successful way for dressage enthusiasts to gather and learn. It’s always great to meet new people at ‘Shop Talk’ as well as welcome back clients who we have known for years.” For more information on ShoChic or Shop Talk, click www.showchicdressage.com  or call 561-319-2121.
