Pilla, of Ridgefield, CT, has been having double the pleasure and double the fun at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, consistently riding Small (BeauCatcher) and Medium (Robin Hill’s Snapshot) mounts into the ribbons in her Children’s Hunter Pony classes.

“It’s been a great season, a great WEF. Couldn’t have gone any better,” her very proud father, Philip Pilla, told Becky Shipps as his daughter accepted her Draper Therapies award.

The Draper Therapies Knock Your Socks Off Award recognizes rides or efforts adding ‘something extra’ to a show. In addition to her tricolor, Pilla won a pair of Draper Therapies therapeutic socks for riders and saddle pad, both made with Celliant®, the world’s most technologically advanced fiber used to combat stiffness, soreness and edema caused by aging, injury or arthritis.

“Sienna’s relationship with her ponies stood out,” said Shipps. “Especially her always having Paddock Cakes to reward them with. It’s clear she loves her ponies and her dad. Love always knocks our socks off!”

Also knocking Draper’s socks off was a young Florida rider, Brooke Giacin, who doesn’t see finishing first as necessary to a winning feeling.

“I usually get in the top three and that’s good enough for me,” said the easy-going Giacin, who trains with Tiffany Morrissey and East Wind Stable, and was showing two horses – Cassis and Rave On – in Low and Children’s Jumpers at Wellington.

“Both these young women,” Shipps said, “demonstrate levels of sportsmanship beyond their years. It’s a great sign that our horse industry is in the right direction producing young riders like Sienna and Brooke.”
