The British horse racing season and calendar

The British horse racing season and calendar keep running as we get into the second week of October. Tuesday will take us to Leicester, as a rare sunny day on the good to soft going track brings us the passion and joy of racing. Fans will be keeping up with the updated numbers and stats on tvg online horse betting, especially after the change of distances for two races. A false rail on the back straight going all the way to the winning line, is responsible for the new distances on THE EVERY DAY LIVE ON RACING TV NURSERY HANDICAP STAKES and THE VISIT racingtv.com HANDICAP STAKES.

The first race of the day kicks off at 1 PM, with THE BRITISH EBF NOVICE STAKES, a Class 4 GBB race. The novice race will be for two-year-olds, with 11 runners gunning for the 10,000 GBP prize money. The field is dominated by colts, with only three geldings on the grid. The distance to cover is 7f. At 1:30 PM, another Class 4 race follows, this time, a division 2 run of THE BRITISH EBF NOVICE STAKES. This time, 10 two-year-old novice runners will take the grid for another 10,000 GBP purse for 7f.

At 2:05 PM, THE BRITISH STALLION STUDS EBF FILLIES’ CONDITIONS STAKES, a Class 3 GBB race. There will be six runners on the grid for a distance of 6f, with the prize money at 15,000 GBP. All six runners will be two-year-old fillies.

The first modified race of the day will be on at 2:40 PM, with THE EVERY RACE LIVE ON RACING TV NURSERY HANDICAP STAKES, a Class 6 run. The original 1m 58y distance has been adjusted to 1m 68y. There will be ten runners, with horses aged two years old and rated 0-55. Twenty horses were balloted out. The prize money is set at 6,500 GBP.

At 3:15 PM, THE BET AT racing.tv SELLING STAKES takes over. Seven runners will run a distance of 7f for a purse of 7,000 GBP. The horses will be 3-4 years old and mostly geldings. It will be interesting to see the strategies of the horses with a stack difference in weights between them.

Up next will be THE EVERY RACE LIVE ON RACING TV HANDICAP STAKES, a Class 2 run and the biggest purse of the day at 20,000 GBP. The horse/jockey/trainer trio of Tomfre/Rob Hornby/Ralph Beckett will be back again to repeat their 2020 win. The distance will be 7f, and the horses will be three-year-olds.

The second modified race of the day, will be THE VISIT racingtv.com HANDICAP STAKES, with the distance bumped to 1m 2f 15y. Rob Hornby will be riding the French gelding, Chef de Troupe. The last race of the day will be THE @leicesterraces NEXT MEETING MONDAY 25TH OCTOBER EBF NOVICE STAKES.
