The European Polo Championship 2014 in Chantilly !
(September 4th to 14th)
France, European champion in 2010 in Austria, will attempt to regain its title granted in 2012 to Spain, in September, at the Polo Club Farm Apremont the pool of French polo.
The event will take place next September from the 4th to 14th, in “ the momentum ” of the World Equestrian Games, which will be held in Normandy – Thanks to all of these events, France will be the centre of the equestrian world for a month!
The Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly is one of the three most important polo centres in Europe and actually one of the most beautiful. With nine grass fields of the highest quality, located in an enchanting 220 acres surrounding a beautiful farm of the eighteenth century, the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly is also totally dedicated to the sport and can be compared to a small Clairefontaine (National French football centre) for polo! If nature and heritage characterise this charming club, the sport remains the key word of the Apremont Farm, and it is here that most of today’s young talents trained, some have become professionals such as #1 French , Brieuc Rigaux (5-goaler). The core of the French polo team in the 2010 European Championship comes from Chantilly (but they could not be present to defend the title in 2012 in Sotogrande due to a lack of preparation time).
This European Championship, under the umbrella of the Fédération Internationale de Polo (FIP) will take place in a period of intense and spectacular games at the Apremont Farm, with tournaments including the Open de France and the female Open de France. With other club tournaments, the performances will be on all nine fields thanks to the great Argentine professional players, the best female polo players and the presence of the top eight European nations. A real festival of polo in the context that, at this time it can be compared to the most beautiful places of Argentine polo, marked by the presence of hundreds of horses and their petiseros in traditional dress and always willing to share their maté on the side of the fields.
