Vita Flex Crowns King Its Victory Pass Award Winner
Lexington, KY (April 9, 2014) – It takes a ‘can-do’ attitude to earn a victory gallop and the only ones standing taller than Vita Flex Victory Pass Award winner Candace King are those saluting her as she rides by. Because King has continued competing despite a fracture to her neck and spine.
“It’s been a little slow this year but positive!” the World Cup Finalist and CSI-W champion told Vita Flex’s Tanner Clark as she accepted her award. “Positive” might be an understatement: King and Bellissimo LLC’s Kismet 50 were second in the Trump Invitational and fourth in the HITS Ocala $1 Million Grand Prix.
Now, she closed out the final week of the 2014 Winter Equestrian Festival as its Vita Flex Victory Pass Award winner. “Congratulations,” Clark told her. “You’ve been an inspiration this season and a real demonstration of what it means to be a champion.”
King is also one of the riders invited to compete at the prestigious 2014 American Invitiational, held for the first time at Sunlife Stadium in Miami. Following the Invitational, King plans to try her hand on some of the summer circuits in the northeast.
“There’s a new summer circuit in Tryon (NC) to try out,” the fearless King, who once won the famous Six Bar Challenge at CSIO Rotterdam, grinned. “We’ll be adventurous.”
