Western Dressage Lopes into the Florida Horse Park

(Ocala, FL) — A long awaited Western Dressage series is coming to the Florida Horse Park. Five shows will take place over the year with dates in January, February, April, June, and September.

Western Dressage is a simple concept that created a revolution in the treatment and training of horses. From the seeds planted by men such as Tom and Bill Dorrance, grew new and more humane methods of starting colts and finishing performance horses. Light hands, subtle cues, and an appreciation for the ultimate benefits derived from a true partnership between horse and rider all led to a revolution in Western Horsemanship. It was only natural that at some point on this journey east would meet west, english would meet western, and Classical Dressage would meet the spirit of the western horse. All five shows are Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA ) Recognized and carry Local Licenses through the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). If the competitor and horse carry USEF recordings, then they are eligible for full points towards the Horse of the Year. Judges include Lynn Palm, Beth Barritt, Heather Stalker, and more.

The series will culminate in a Series Championships, held on September 7-8th, 2019. Competitors can qualify for the Series Championships by competing during at least one day of three out of the five shows. Series Championships will have a variety of prizes to choose from!
