World Equestrian Brands Tack Matters Award Winners Mathilde Tetrault and Michelangelo Bring Style and Function to the 2013 Global Dressage Festival

Wellington, FL (February 26, 2013) – “A stylish dressage performance has to be a complete package: art, function, and athleticism. It should embody as beautiful a vision as that of horse and rider dancing together,” says World Equestrian Brands president, Robin Moore, explaining the impetus behind the company’s World Equestrian Brands Tack Matters Award.

Recognizing too that true beauty is ageless, Moore presented her company’s latest World Equestrian Brands Tack Matters Award at the Florida Dressage Classics CDI-W, February 13-17, to FEI Junior Freestyle duo Mathilde Blais Tetreault, 20, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Michelangelo, her seasoned 15-year-old Swedish Warmblood by Admiral. Both were decked out in exceptionally fitting and functional equipment, which accented their performance. In recognition of their exceptional turn out they were presented with the World Equestrian Brands Tack Matters award, which includes a beautiful Vespucci bridle as the prize.

“He was a little hot,” laughed Tetrault, juxtaposing her horse’s ‘heat’ during the class against the unusually chilly stretch of weather for Wellington. “We had a mistake in the walk but finished strong. His trot and canter work were great,” she added, crediting the fluid choreography of her music, by fellow-Canadian, Karen Robinson of Applause Dressage Freestyle Design, and the encouragement of her “rhythm is paramount,” trainer, Albrecht Heidemann.

“We are delighted to be here at the Florida Dressage Classic during the Global Dressage Festival to recognize the stylish, yet technically correct, performances of its horses and riders through the World Equestrian Brands Tack Matters Award,” said Moore.
