2KGrey came about through a love of fashion and dreams of designing riding apparel. In 2011, the 2kGrey founders met Meryl Ranzer who has 25 years of experience in fashion, having worked in the business as a designer, merchandiser, graphic artist, product developer and teacher. Ranzer has worked on private label for Oleg Cassini, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Kellwood, and Victoria’s Secret. In addition to being a partner at 2kGrey, Ranzer is an instructor at Parsons School of Design, and is on the board of advisors for Tabii Just, a zero waste clothing line.

As 2kGrey’s brings their fashion forward riding pants to a larger national market, the launch will coincide wih 2kGrey’s sponsorship of the 2014 Adequan Global Dressage Festival. First presented to southeastern equestrian markets, the riding pants were so well received that the 2KGrey team felt ready to take the promotional bit further. Ranzer said, “Michelle Hundt, the owner of ShowChic dressage boutique, took a chance on our new line. Reaching out to additional markets will give us more exposure and opportunities to grow. Our goal is to be a crossover brand that appeals to the serious equestrian as well as fashionistas. Once we’ve developed a women’s line, we want to do men’s and children’s wear as well. After our national launch, we plan to expand to the international markets as we have gotten a lot of interest from Europe.”

“We thought a Best Seat Award aligned perfectly with 2kGrey,” Ranzer said. “We are all about looking and feeling your best, when you ride or wherever you go.”

What sets the 2KGrey look apart is its functionality as a riding pant while looking great as a jean outside the barn — a practicality many breeches can’t offer: “There is value in having your performance apparel also work as an everyday pant. The fit is very flattering, and the styling is both fun and fashionable,” said Ranzer.

The national launch will also be 2KGrey’s ‘big reveal’ of styles never seen before. “Since the line has not gotten national exposure,” Ranzer said, “we will include the riding pants already in the collection, as well as three new styles in fashion colors. The newest additions are gorgeous show jackets; we are using the best Schoeller fabric and adding details not typically found in a riding jacket, but that will look great in the ring.”

The best seats – in the ring or the house – this season at the Global Dressage Festival will belong to 2KGrey. Learn more about its stylish line of women’s equestrian fashion and more at www.2kgrey.com.
