“She was very interesting to me,” Goldstein said, recalling what drew her to the horse. “She seems to have tremendous scope and plenty of blood. I think she has potential to be a real championship horse. She is still a bit green for a nine year-old, so I plan to take my time for the beginning of the circuit. But if all goes well, we can start jumping some bigger stuff towards the end of the season.”

Fresh off a season-opening win at the start of the new year on another Starwyn Farms mare, Carisma, in the ESP Holiday Finale $10,000 Open Stake, Goldstein is in no rush with this latest addition to the distaff side of her barn.

“I can’t say for sure what we plan to do beyond this circuit but for now, we will take it one class at a time,” she said. Goldstein starts her new year qualified for the World Equestrian Games in Normandy thanks to her ride on another recently sold Starwyn horse, Adamo van’t Steenputje, in the Arnhem Grand Prix 3* last summer.

“With the ones that show a lot of potential, I find it is always best to be patient and let them tell you when they are ready,” Goldstein says. “I’m thrilled to have a horse like Rosette in the barn and looking forward to a successful season.” With a name like that, there’s winning to be done.
