Riverhead, NY (August 15, 2013) – “I had a horse sent in for training that had a tendency to cross his jaw while ridden. I tried him in the Neue Schule Tranz Angled Lozenge Baucher and this issue immediately disappeared. It was instantaneous. I was sold,” says 2012 Canadian Olympic Dressage veteran David Marcus.

Marcus, who earlier this year captured the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle at the CDI-W Global Dressage Festival, the Individual Bronze medal at the CDIO3* Wellington Dressage Nations Cup, and a Grand Prix hattrick at the CDI-3* Rookwood, has seen noticeable improvement in the comfort and compliance of his equine partners since introducing them to Neue Schule Bits.

“I have had the most success so far with the Neue Schule Pacifier Weymouth, on my Olympic horse, Chrevi’s Capital. Capital has a small mouth and since changing him to this curb he’s been happier and softer.”

Chrevi’s Capital, owned by Deborah Kinzinger, is the 13-year-old dark bay Danish Warmblood gelding Marcus rode on the Canadian dressage squad at the 2012 London Olympic Games and, most recently, rode to the Grand Prix and Grand Prix win at the 2013 CDI3* Angelstone International in Ontario.

“I have enjoyed using the range of bits from Neue Schule. Overall, they are the most ergonomically-designed, lightweight bits I have ever encountered. The horses are all very happy in them and for me that is the biggest test.”

The Omaha, Nebraska-born horseman represented the U.S. in five North American Young Rider Championships and earned its prestigious Captain Andrew B. De Szinay Sportsmanship Award before becoming a Canadian citizen in 2011. He knows the importance of comfortable and consistent horses on the road to the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

“My next step is to compete in the Saugerties (NY) and Devon (PA) CDI’s in preparation for Florida and – ultimately — the World Games,” he says.

“Neue Schule Bits are ready to ride with David every step of the way to Normandy,” says North American Neue Schule Bits distributor, Mette Larsen, of Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery in Riverhead, NY.

“Between Capital, and his Nations Cup Bronze medal stablemate, Don Kontes (also owned by Kinzinger), Marcus has a horse for every test and now, he has a bit for every horse.”
