Dressage Star Charlotte Dujardin Announced as Ambassador for London International 2024

The organizers of London International Horse Show are delighted to announce Dressage star Charlotte Dujardin CBE as one of the Official Ambassadors for this year’s Show, which takes place at ExCeL London from 18 – 22 December 2024.

Dujardin, who is Great Britian’s most successful Olympic equestrian athlete, and Britian’s joint most decorated female Olympian of all time, stormed to victory in London last year riding Imhotep, after an awe-inspiring performance on her first appearance at the Show since the arrival of her daughter Isabella earlier that year. The Dressage powerhouse will be aiming to return to the ExCeL this December and will very much be hoping to regain the title.

Not only the most successful British Dressage rider in the history of the sport, Dujardin also holds every world record in Dressage. Recently announced in the British Dressage nominated entries for the Paris 2024 Olympics with two horses, Dujardin will be hoping to make the final team and compete for the crown of Britian’s most successful female Olympian, following the recent retirement of British cyclist Laura Kenny with whom she currently jointly holds the record.

On her role as London International Horse Show Ambassador, Dujardin commented:I am thrilled to be a London International Horse Show Ambassador. The Show is a very special event for me, and I love competing there – it really is an incredible Show and I have some great memories over the years. I was so excited to return last year, and to win both FEI Dressage World Cup qualifiers made it even more amazing after being away from the sport for a year. The crowds at London are always so passionate and it is one of the highlights of my year.”

The FEI Dressage World Cup™ supported by Horse & Hound, takes place on the first two days of the London International, with the Grand Prix opening the Show on the morning of Wednesday 18 December. The evening of Thursday 19 December will showcase the Freestyle to Music and all eyes are sure to be on Charlotte who aims to return to the stage looking for a consecutive victory.

Dujardin will extend the narrative of the Show beyond the event itself, providing an insight into how a rider prepares for such a prestigious event, enabling fans to experience exclusive behind the scenes content and facilitating unique insights into the life of a top international Dressage competitor.

Show Director, Simon Brooks-Ward stated: “We are absolutely delighted to have Charlotte on board as Ambassador for this year’s London International Horse Show. We were so thrilled to see her return to the Show last year, and to come back and take the FEI Dressage World Cuptitles so soon after becoming a mother, shows just what a truly remarkable athlete she is. We cannot wait to welcome her back.”
