Equine-Loving Celebrities and Black Beauty Filmmaker Launch 2nd Annual Story Competition for Children

The Wild Beauty Foundation has officially announced its second annual Short Story Competition for children and teens, with the theme of “Connection & Wild Horses”. Fifteen equine-loving celebrities will read the winning and finalist stories aloud on social media as one of the prizes, a special treat for young writers.
The star studded cast participating includes:  Mackenize Foy (Black Beauty, Twilight), Iain Glen (Black Beauty Game of Thrones), Beth Behrs (The Neighborhood, 2 Broke Girls), Michael Gladis (Mad Men), Alisha Newton (Heartland), Graham Wartle (Heartland), Calam Lynch (Black Beauty, Bridgerton), Claire Forlani (Black Beauty, Meet Joe Black) Max Raphael (Black Beauty, Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes): along with three young actors from Black Beauty including Sienna Wallace, Jack Graham, and Avianah Abrahams.

The goal of the WBF Short Story Competition, which debuted last year to hundreds of entries from children around the world; was helmed to raise critical awareness for wild horses in the Western United States. The competition was conceived by WBF founders Ashley Avis and Edward Winters, the filmmakers behind Disney’s Black Beauty and the upcoming documentary Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West which will debut on the festival circuit over fall 2022.
“I feel strongly that if you are given a platform, you need to use it for good,” says Avis. “That is why we began The Wild Beauty Foundation. We have been looking for ways to incorporate creativity and awareness in reaching the next generation, the future stewards of our wild world.”
