Equitation Riders Set to Return to Old Salem Farm for 2022 ASPCA Maclay Region 2 Championship

Maclay Regionals Weekend to Kick Off Busy September at Old Salem Farm

The Northeast’s top equitation riders will descend on historic Old Salem Farm for the 2022 ASPCA Maclay Region 2 Championship on Saturday, September 10, aiming to punch their ticket to the Maclay National Championship at the National Horse Show in Lexington, Kentucky in November. The Maclay Regionals Weekend will kick off a busy month of September at Old Salem Farm with three weeks of USEF-recognized horse shows rounding out the month.

“Old Salem Farm is honored to once again host the Maclay Regionals and welcome the Northeast’s most talented junior riders to our facility,” said Scott Hakim, president and CEO of Old Salem Farm. “Coming on the heels of our highly successful Spring Horse Shows, our September shows promise lots of excitement, and we’re thrilled to start things off with a weekend featuring show jumping’s stars of the future!”

The ASPCA Maclay Region 2 Championship will feature courses designed by Paul Jewell and Nancy Wallis in Old Salem’s beautifully manicured June Road ring, with ring dimensions, dressing and jumps mimicking the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park, home to the Maclay National Championship. Opening Day on Friday, September 9, features warm-up classes for the Maclay followed by a reception for the Regional Draw at 4:00 p.m. All Maclay Regional participants, trainers and parents are invited as guests of Old Salem Farm.
