For This Nations Cup Hopeful and Team the Only Choice is Choice of Champions

Wellington, FL (April 9, 2013) – Wellington, Florida has long been called horse country, but once the gates open April 12 for the Wellington Nations Cup CDIO3* it will be the center of a dressage universe, hosting teams from Australia, Canada, Colombia, Spain, U.S., and Venezuela, as well as representative Mixed and European squads.

And for five riders hoping to represent their native Colombia, the choice for supplementing their equine partners – including two stallions – has been Choice of Champions International, the brand recommended by veterinarians, professional trainers, and dedicated riders alike.

The riders aiming for Colombia’s Prix St. Georges Nations Cup team are: Carmen Franco, riding the 11 year-old Lusitano stallion, Vinho dos Pinhais, owned by Nanette Sexton; Marco Bernal, riding his 12 year-old Westphalian stallion, Farewell IV; Raul Corchuelo, riding the 12 year-old Westphalian gelding, Maybach, owned by Marco Bernal; Mauricio Sanchez, riding his 11 year-old Hanoverian gelding, First Fisherman; and Nicolas Torres Rodriguez, riding his 16 year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding, Silver Label. Choice of Champions also sponsors Nations Cup riders Caroline Roffman (USA), Mikala Gundersen (DEN), and Juan Matute’s mount, Don Diego, who is competing for Spain.

“I have used Choice of Champions for more than four years and love its effect on the horses. Vinho dos Pinhais is on Super Joint Solution and Ulser Shield, and I have used True Sweat and Lung Aid on different horses, too. I know,” said dressage rider Carmen Franco, “I get all the support I need from these products for my performance horses. They feel great.”

The Wellington Nations Cup CDIO3* presented by Stillpoint Farm will be held April 11-14 in conjunction with the 2013 Adequan Global Dressage Festival. For Franco, it also represents an important recovery and return to the ring with the horse she loves: “I’ve been preparing to make a team since last year when I moved two horses to FEI level. I was sure I could come back to represent my country after a solid foundation of work and results in the ring and had a plan designed to participate in a few National classes and then move to CDI’s.

“Sadly, in our first CDI (Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge II), Vinho injured his mouth in the stall and I had to excuse myself during the Prix St. Georges test. Two weeks later we showed at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby but Vinho was still too sensitive in the mouth and our connection wasn’t great.

“We have been working to get to our usual harmony and have had awesome help from Sharon McCusker and Thomas von Samson, a German rider/trainer who’s been the Colombian National Coach for many years, and my sister Rosina Franco.

“It’s really exciting to be back in the international ring, and with hopes to compete for my beloved country. Hope I make it, not only for my own happiness but for the rest of my awesome team of supporters: my family, husband, Nan, our grooms, sponsors, veterinarians, chiropractors, coaches, farriers, and friends. And a big ‘thank-you’ to Allyn Maix, owner of Choice of Champions International, for her constant support that I have now shared with my fellow Colombian riders. She has supplemented all our horses with Ulser Shield and Super Joint!”

For setbacks in a horse’s health and performance, Choice of Champions has specialized equine supplements to help them return to full speed and top form in record time. Used and recommended by top professionals in a range of equestrian sports and equine medicine, Choice of Champions supplements work wonders for horses coping with joint problems, ulcers, or respiratory problems.

Choice of Champions International was created in 2006 by avid equestrienne Allyn Maix, whose 30 years in the equine industry led her to seeking to fulfill a need for specialized equine supplements that really worked. “We are so proud of our quality products and it is gratifying to hear the success stories from our customers”, says Maix. “But the proof is in the pudding. Unless you try our products, you’ll never know how much they can help your horses.”
