HITS Continues Expansion of Dressage Competitions for 2023

HITS LLC is passionate about creating quality competitions for all aspects of equestrian sport. As our team looks ahead, we are continuing our dedication to the discipline of dressage, hosting world-class events at three locations including HITS-on-the-Hudson, Lamplight Equestrian Center, and soon Del Mar Horse Park in 2023.

The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) recently announced that HITS was selected to host two of the 2023 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships, presented by SmartPak. This is in addition to the 2022 Great American Insurance Group / USDF Region 8 Championships held September 22-25 at HITS-on-the-Hudson, and the 2022 U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions held August 24-28 at Lamplight Equestrian Center. The HITS schedule also includes qualifying competitions during Dressage at Lamplight and HITS Saugerties Summer Dressage.

“I grew up at Lamplight and lived in the area for 10 years,” said Endel Ots, who won the 2021 USEF Intermediare I Dressage National Championship. “It’s so great to see him [Tom] carrying on the tradition and legacy of what Steve Cooper created. We have such a large country, and it is center ground – it’s such a great place to have the Festival of Champions. Everyone feels super welcome and it’s a wonderful show. Nothing is like having the Championships at Lamplight – it’s such a stunningly beautiful facility.”

HITS LLC has also been selected to take over the management of the Del Mar Horse Park in 2023, and has plans to host several CDI events at the new location. More information about these exciting new additions to the HITS calendar will be provided in the coming months.

“We are pleased to be continuing the wonderful legacy of world-class dressage competitions at Lamplight Equestrian Center, and expanding HITS Saugerties and Del Mar Horse Park to host elite dressage events,” said Tom Struzzieri. “We recognize how hard these horse and rider partnerships work to qualify for the Regional Championships and Festival of Champions. We look forward to honoring that dedication during these year-end events, as well as offering CDI events at Del Mar.”

Struzzieri concluded, “HITS has been the nationwide leader in progressive grass-roots programs for hunters and jumpers. In the coming months, we will roll out a parallel nationwide program for dressage. Stay tuned for more exciting information!”
