International Dressage Superstars Steffen and Shannon Peters Named Neue Schule Ambassadors
Wellington, FL (July 22, 2013) – Neue Schule bits is excited to announce that they have recently named renowned equestrians, Steffen and Shannon Peters, as official ambassadors of their unique and ergonomically designed bits. The Peters said they are thrilled to represent Neue Schule and are very impressed with the bits because of the design and comfort, and especially because of the better feeling they experience in the connection with their horses. “The horses readily accept them,” states Shannon Peters, “even those who we’ve had difficulty fitting in the past, we can now find the most appropriate and comfortable bit that is perfect for each horse. We are particularly impressed with the Verbinden bradoons and snaffles, as well as the Aachen and Pacifier Curbs,” she adds.
The Peters own Arroyo Del Mar, a world-class training and boarding facility located in beautiful San Diego, which is home to approximately 65 horses currently in training there. Together, the couple brings over 20 years of high level equestrian experience to all they do. Steffen Peters is by far one of the most well known names in the sport of dressage worldwide. He has competed in three Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Peters has been successful in other numerous international competitions, including winning team bronze at the 2006 World Equestrian Games, two individual bronze medals at the 2010 World Equestrian Games and individual and team gold at the 2011 Pan Am Games. Ravel, the world famous horse upon which Peters won many of these titles, was recently retired in 2012. Peters is continuing to strive toward equestrian excellence with his sights set on the 2014 Alltech World Equestrian Games in Normandy, and is proud to represent his country on the US Team. He is also very excited to have the support of Neue Schule bits helping him and his horses achieve their best. “The horses are softer in the connection because of the comfort of the Neue Schule bits which leads to a better overall feeling in the topline,” Peters explains. “We just love them!”
The Peters’ attention to detail and dedication to finding the best fitting, most effective, and most comfortable equipment for their horses make them a perfect match for Neue Schule. To make it easier for all riders to solve their bitting problems, all of Neue Schule’s bits have product tags explaining their particular function and purpose so that equestrians can relate the technical aspects of each bit to how it applies to their individual horse and riding discipline.
Mette Larsen of Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery is the US and Canadian distributor for Neue Schule. She explains that the new product tags act as a guide to help select which bits are best to create a better platform for the rider-horse connection, and help solve potential problems. “The better designed the bit is, the easier it is for the rider and the horse,” says Larsen, “Each bit addresses the various problematic issues that can occur between the horse and the contact with the bit, like pulling on the rider, hiding behind the bit, unevenness in the hand, tongue issues, etc. The bits are designed to help alleviate some of these issues so that the horse and rider get back to focusing on their ride.” Neue Schule’s line of bits range from $134.50-$339, and are a range of high performance, superior comfort bits that are ergonomically designed, using the latest in engineering and computer aided design(CAD) technologies and incorporate a unique metal alloy.
