Kraków rivalry for the World Cup Final
CAVALIADA Krakow is hosting the final of the FEI Jumping World Cup Central European League for the third time. The athletes will fight to place among the top three who will advance to the World Cup Final. This year, it will take place in April in Riyadh (KSA). Who stands before the best chance of success?
The lineup in Kraków will feature 16 riders, fighting to advance to this year’s FEI Jumping World Cup Final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The entry list shows the leaders of both the northern and southern sub-leagues: Sara Vingralkova from the Czech Republic and Angelos Touloupis from Greece. Apart from the leaders those who have collected more than 30 points on their accounts in the qualification so far still stand before a chance to qualify. These are: Kristaps Neretnieks from Latvia, Estonians Madis Morna and My Relander and Andrius Petrovas from Lithuania.
How will the final competition play out?
In Krakow, three classes will count for the final: Thursday’s Big Tour (speed class, 145 cm), Friday’s Big Tour (against the clock with a jump-off, 150 cm) and Sunday’s PKO Bank Polski Grand Prix (against the clock with a jump-off, 155 cm). In the first two competitions, the top ten receive bonus points according to a scale – 10 points for first place, 9 points for second, etc. In the PKO Bank Polski Grand Prix, points are doubled. The top three riders to take part in the finals are determined by: the sum of points collected in the best 5 starts in qualifications and the sum of points collected during the final.
Both during the qualification and during the final, the classes are open to other athletes, and points are allocated only to the CEL ranked competitors, in order, after excluding riders from other regions of the world from the scoreboard.
