Last stop in France before Rio for the French Team

In the run-up of the Olympic games of Rio, every sport competition takes on a particular dimension. The Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is no exception. Much of medal contenders will be on the warpath on the beautiful Plaine de Bagatelle from July 1st to 3rd.Last stop in France before Rio for the French Team #eliteequestrian elite equestrianmagazine

Among these candidates, the five riders most likely able to represent France at the Olympic equestrian site of Deodoro, northern Rio. A team that clearly will be part of the favorites, but which will be officially declared only on July 13th. Nevertheless, today, we can hardly imagine that Pénélope Leprévost (n°4 mondial), Simon Delestre (n°2), Kevin Staut (n°7) and Patrice Delaveau (n°13) won’t make it to Rio, probably alongside Roger-Yves Bost.

And as they will be all in Paris, they’ll count, of course, on the Parisians’ and French’s cheering during these three days for the ultimate appearance on the Tricolor ground. On the Eiffel Sunday day, former Olympic medal-holders, Seoul gold medallist (1988) Pierre Durand top, will be present to officially wish a public good luck to the Olympics selected riders. (Show-Good luck Rio Sunday at 5:30pm).

Each one of the three days of intense competition has its highlights.

To every day its strong moment (even his strong moments). It will start on Friday with a record to break: the 2m05 of the High-jump’s Prix Eiffel Record of the City of Paris held by Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer and Chika’s Way since 2014. A class during which the actor Guillaume Canet shone in 2015 taking fourth place with Sweet Boy Alpha after having nearly put down the pole at 1m90 ! Olympic level sport on Saturday with the leg of the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour : a challenge and a destination (Paris) that attracts all the stars of the discipline. Like all courses of this Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, the Grand Prix’s will be drawn by the course designer who will work in Rio, Brazil’s Guilherme Jorge : a third good reason that has motivated the champions to make the trip to Paris, to familiarize with courses of the one who will have his part on the Olympic results. All of the World Top 10’s European riders (and most of the Top 30) will be especially in Bagatelle, just like the Olympic German selected-riders, Christian Ahlmann (n°3), Ludger and Meredith Beerbaum, Marco Kutscher or Hans-Dieter Dreher, favorites with France and the Netherlands for Rio. Christian Ahlmann is currently the leader of this circuit whose two last legs have been won by Ludger Beerbaum (in Chantilly) and Scott Brash (in Cannes), circuit that has been won last year by Portugal’s Luciana Diniz. All four will be there… among other big names of the discipline! (Grand Prix Paris Eiffel LGCT, Saturday at 4:30 pm).

Sunday the Eiffel Sunday will host a new class, the Eiffel Sunday Challenge presented by the Mairie de Paris, which will comprise original fences designed by the artist Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Then, these exclusives creations will be sold on auction at the end of the class for the benefit of the charity La Bonne Etoile, created by Hélène Darroze and Laeticia Hallyday (present at the PEJ). This day, with an original programme, and the edition of the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping 2016, will end with a new and ludic team class, the Global Champions League. A fun and innovative class, staged with firmness (music for each team encouraging the crowd, colorful team tee-shirt representing twelve of the fourteen cities hosting the Global Champions Tour, including the « Paris Jets » etc.) A competition representing knowledge sharing, especially because each of the teams counts one experienced rider, participating in the five stars, and one young. (Eiffel Sunday Challenge presented by the Mairie de Paris at 3:45pm and the Global Champions League at 6:15 pm).Last stop in France before Rio for the French Team #eliteequestrian elite equestrianmagazine

In short, three days and three highlights, with a race start to reach the top of the competition and generosity! Thus, the benefits of the sales of tables in the VIP area with a menu created by the famous star chiefs Alain Ducasse and Frédéric Vardon will also be redistributed to La Bonne Etoile. Fans of stars will be able to recognize some of them in the stands, and also on the track of the CSI1* (Guillaume Canet, Benjamin Castaldi or Charlotte Casiraghi) while an exhibitor village will be open constantly with particularly animations like pony rides for kids.

In short, a big party both fancy and popular at the same time under the sign of the Olympics on a beautiful site of greenery
