Latest Work of Equine Abstract Art by ShowChic’s Michele Hundt Graces Diamante Farm
Wellington, FL- (October 25, 2013) ShowChic Dressage is well known for providing the Wellington equestrian community with the very best in fashion and design. In fact, most dressage riders look no further than this upscale dressage fashion boutique for the finest in dressage apparel, gifts and accessories. However, many people may not realize that ShowChic offers something more for horse enthusiasts to enhance the grace and beauty of the equestrian lifestyle, something that simply cannot be found anywhere else in the world. This is the original art of ShowChic’s owner, and abstract artist, Michele Hundt. Inspired by a lifelong love of horses, Hundt is masterful in her bold use of striking contours and images. Working with color and shape to capture that special moment in time, Hundt expresses her artistic gift through her specialties of Original Abstract Paintings, Figure Paintings, and most especially, Equine Artwork. “Imagine a special moment – just the right time, just the right place, with the right
person, “Hundt describes, “My paintings are the story of that special moment. Viewers of my work are inspired to remember their own personal, special moment. My paintings may inspire laughter in one person, and sadness in another.” She continues, “With each painting, the viewer has his or her own personal experience.”
The latest piece of Hundt’s equine artwork now graces the office loft wall of Diamante Farm owner, Terri Kane. Kane describes that as soon as she bought the house, she decided she wanted something spectacular for that particular wall, “and I knew right away I wanted Michelle to do it!” Kane remembers, “I came to her, and there was nothing in the house yet, and I said, ‘I want you to do a painting for me!’” She continues, “I knew I wanted horses, but I didn’t want just a horse. I wanted something different, so I just kind of gave her the reins!”
Hundt also enjoyed the experience of creating the painting for the beautiful home of Diamante Farm. She explains, “The painting was a commissioned piece by Terri. I visited her home to see the setting she wanted the piece to be placed. She wanted the 3’x 5’ painting to hang in her office loft and to be visible when you were below in the living area.” She continues, “Terri was a dream client! Her only request was the painting be BOLD, so as inspiration, I used boldness of contrasting color and shapes to describe the dressage horses’ movement.” Kane said that when she saw the piece for the first time, it brought her to tears. “I am thrilled with it,” she smiles, “It’s exactly what I wanted and more!”
Hundt’s career has been diverse, and has always been art related. For over 17 years, she served as a Designer and Artistic Director at various companies in the Midwest. A graduate of the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Hundt has also studied Drawing at the Cleveland Museum of Art and Figure Drawing at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Her work has appeared in the Mulry Fine Art Gallery in Palm Beach, Florida and the Artists haven Gallery in Ft. Lauderdale.
By combining her love of horses with her love of art, Hundt is able to serve her ShowChic clientele with something beautiful that simply can’t be found anywhere else.
