Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup to Make West Coast Debut at Blenheim EquiSports
The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ USA is coming to the West Coast of the United States for the very first time this year.
In partnership with US Equestrian and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), Blenheim EquiSports has been named the host of a Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ series qualifier, to be held on Sunday, May 14, 2023, during the San Juan Capistrano International at The Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the highest caliber of show jumping competition back to Southern California,” said Stephanie Lightner of Blenheim EquiSports. “It’s a great opportunity for our West Coast audience to experience top sport – and for competitors to enjoy all that our facility and the area have to offer.”
As the only qualifier for the series held on U.S. soil, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ USA serves as an important opportunity for teams to earn points toward qualification for the Pan American Games, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final and ultimately, the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) is the international governing body of equestrian sports, overseeing all international events of Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines.
The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ series is equestrian sport’s oldest and most prestigious team challenge, with national teams from around the globe competing for one of the most coveted prizes in this Olympic discipline.
The series aims to unite nations and foster lifelong enthusiasm for the world of horses.
The FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ is a ten-event series, with the final competition held only once a year in a given country. Its global format means that more countries can host qualifiers at world-class venues and aim to win the FEI Nations Cup™ title by acquiring qualifying points according to their placings.
The FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final Competition will be held in Barcelona, Spain in late September 2023.
