LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RNADOX HEALTH GRAND NATIONAL 2021

Last year was a bust due to the coronavirus pandemic and all that it came with, disrupting the flow of daily life and professional sport. It was not an easy time but the various bodies have found innovative ways to get their activities back on track and horseracing has been no different. the Grand National of 2020 had to be cancelled in the thick of the spreading pandemic, but 2021 promises a return and the excitement just keeps building for everyone involved, even if it is most likely there will be no fans in attendance. The spirit of the event is always a gripping and enjoyable one and should flourish either way. The last time we were at Aintree for the Grand National was in 2019, and it gave us some really great races, and 2021 should be no different with all the anticipation and eagerness to get back out there, especially coming on the back of Cheltenham. Punters will no doubt be licking their chops again and looking to have a go at this year’s event, with Paddy Power horse betting odds giving them the best chances at making a nifty sum.

Day two of the Randox Health Grand National builds on the adrenaline from the opening LIVERPOOL’S NHS DAY, bringing continued excitement with seven thrilling races on the card. Six class 1 races, including two Grade 3 runs make up the lineup, while a class 2 race rounds out the day. The ORRELL PARK HANDICAP HURDLE race is one of the first of the day, a 2m 4f affair for horses four years old and above, and 56,000 GBP up for grabs. Next up is the DOOM BAR SEFTON NOVICES’ HURDLE race, a GBB, class 1, Grade 1 run at 3m 143y, for 75,000 GBP. the second biggest race of the day is the RANDOX TOPHAM HANDICAP STEEPLECHASE, for horses five years old and above, 2m 5f and 19y. The race is one of the Grade 3 races and commands a mouthwatering 105,000 GBP in prizemoney.

The most valuable race in terms of prizemoney is the MEELING STEEPLECHASE, which runs for 2m 3f and 200y. A race for horses five years and above, the prizemoney is a whooping 187,000 GBP and is the biggest attraction of the day if money is your measurement of value. The PINSENT MASON HANDICAP HURDLE race is a low budget affair with a pot of 38,000 GBP, but every inch in its 2m 103y should be worth the watch and time. The BETWAY TOP NOVICES’ HURDLE and BETWAY MILDMAY NOVICES’ HURDLE races make up the rest of the race card.
