What began as a before and after school job for Chester R. Shirk has since built the groundwork of Rigidply Rafters today. For 55 years, Rigidply Rafters has been setting the Standard in the Wood Truss and GluLam Timber Industry.
It first began in the basement of their house where sets of rafters were glued and clamped together. Today, Rigidply Rafters’ name continues as a testament to the superior work produced by this family owned business. Currently we employ over 150 people which operate the manufacturing plant in Richland. A second manufacturing plant is located in Oakland, MD.
Among the products we manufacture are: Glue-Laminated treated posts; Roof and Floor Trusses; Glue-Laminated Arches and Beams; T&G and V-groove decking. We also offer a complete line of post-frame building materials.
