Royal Jump de Bertichères
Welcoming great champions.
A wonderful setting, a significant sport stake, a continuous support from prestigious partners, the Royal Jump is a breath of fresh air in the world of eventing in France, and a positive response comes out of this. Riders have responded favorably to the invitation and this first edition will feature exceptional riders in the CIC2* and CCI1*. Olympic medallists and French headliners will gather in the charming setting of the Domaine de Bertichères, in Chaumont-en-Vexin (60), from June 1st to 5th.
Riders have shown a great interest in this important and major project as they are thrilled to welcome a new eventing show in France. Lead by Team Olympic Champion, Karim Laghouag, the buzz has spread and today, around fifteen French eventing successful riders have announced their participation to the Royal Jump de Bertichères at the beginning of June. Public will have the opportunity to cheer on their heroes from Rio because, beside Karim Laghouag, Astier Nicolas, Mathieu Lemoine and Thibault Valette, although the latter two will be on foot, will honor Bertichères with their presence.
But they won’t be the only tricolors to keep an eye on during the weekend. Spectators will have the chance to watch Maxime Livio, winner of the CIC 4* of Pau and recently second of the 4* in Lexington, Cédric Lyard, Team Olympic Champion in Athens in 2004 alongside Jean Teulère, himself World Champion in 2002, but also the Capitain Stanislas de Zuchowicz, Team World Vice-Champion in Lümhulen in 2011, or the Adjudant Donatien Schauly, Team Bronze medallist at the European Championships of Malmö in 2013.
Quite a lot of great names in the French corner, to name a few, but foreign riders will not be at rest. Six nations have confirmed: Switzerland, Great-Britain, Belgium, Italy, South Africa or Germany, with for exampler Dirk Schrade, Team Olympic Champion in London in 2012.
All are curious to discover the 4 kilometers of drops on the new cross course, built in less than a year and designed around a beautiful golf field, near the castle of Bertichères, just like the best eventing show of Great-Britain. For the occasion, nearly 15 000 people are expected on the site during the four days of competition. The Royal Jump will be a singular event, gathering both disciplines which have shone in Rio, eventing and showjumping, but will also present three Derby classes. Monday will be, with no hesitation, the day to follow, as some professional rider, among them Olympic Champions, will take part in the professional Derby!
A great adventure to live in family, as, beside being a top level sport week-end, the Royal Jump will offer a multitude of animations and entertainments in parallel of the classes. Especially on Sunday 4th, during which visitors will have the privilege to discover polo through a demonstration game between France and Argentina offered by the Polo Club of Chantilly. But they will also have the opportunity to attend an equestrian fashion show in front of a jury made up of celebrities. The winner of this contest presented by Mademoiselle Agency and Grand Prix will win a year of contract with the agency. The day will finish on the edge with a special concert by French artist Patrick Bruel.
Starting on June 1st, in parallel of the dressage classes of the 1* and 2*, visitors could discover a village of over 50 exhibitors, installed in the heart of the 70 hectares’ park. Between pony rides for children and exhibition of collector old cars, every one will find its happiness.
