Sanctuary Peak Performance Award Winner CC Babyruth Scores a Home Run
Wellington, FL (June 24, 2013) – Florida barrel racing and racehorse trainers Mandy and Rex Amos know how to put the ‘performance’ in MR Performance Horses of Ocala. At the National Barrel Horse Association Florida State Championships at the Silver Spur Arena in Kissimmee, Mandy and CC Babyruth hit it out of the park to qualify for the 3D Finals, as well as earning The Sanctuary Peak Performance Award.
Amos says she and her buckskin gelding couldn’t have done it alone: “He wasn’t working as good as he could and I knew I needed to do something to help him out. I took him to the Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation trailer on the grounds and had Brenda McDuffee of The Sanctuary laser his hocks and stifles. I love to laser my horses and also use the magna-wave on them.
“After his treatment, I tacked him up and warmed him up lightly before we ran. He shaved a half-second off his time from the day before and still had room to improve! CC Babyruth qualified me back for the finals. We qualified both go rounds and clocked just over a half second off the winner. I’m so proud of him!” Only .16 seconds off from winning the NBHA 2D Championship Saddle, Amos said, “I would definitely take advantage of The Sanctuary’s spa treatments before a big show to help get all I can from my horses.”
