Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series to Host Year-End Final at Washington International Horse Show
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series will host its year-end Championship Final at the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS), October 23-29, marking the beginning of a new era as the Series Final relocates from the National Horse Show where it has been held since the Series’ inception in 1992.
“We want to express our sincere thanks to the National Horse Show for its longtime support of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame and our Jumper Classic Series,” said Hall of Fame Chairman Peter Doubleday. “The National is one of the most respected horse shows in the country, and it has been an honor to hold our Championship Final there for the last 30 years. We thank the National and look forward to starting a new era as the Final moves to the Washington International Horse Show, also one of this country’s iconic horse shows.”
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame conducts the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series with classes at approximately 80 horse shows each year. The Series hosts separate divisions for junior and amateur riders in two Conferences – the East Conference presented by Rood & Riddle and the West Conference presented by LAURACEA. The Series culminates in a West Conference Championship Final at Blenheim EquiSports’ International Jumping Festival in San Juan Capistrano, California and the overall Series Final at the Washington International Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The riders who top the year-long Series standings receive an engraved Tiffany crystal trophy and the winners of the Series’ two Finals receive one of LAURACEA’s best-selling Convertible Backpack Totes.
Over the years, an impressive list of riders has competed in the Series, including: Georgina Bloomberg, Daniel Bluman, Ashlee Bond, Laura Chapot, Karl Cook, Lucy Davis, Katie Dinan, Brianne Goutal-Marteau, Lauren Hough, Lillie Keenan, Reed Kessler, Peter Leone, Marilyn Little, Sarah Segal, Hannah Selleck, Mavis Spencer, Jessica Springsteen, Danielle Torano, Catherine Tyree, Julie Welles, Ali Wolff and many more.
