The Longines Challenge Cup heads to the Netherlands

The Netherlands team has claimed the Longines Challenge Cup tonight at the Olympic arena of the Real Club de Polo in Barcelona. The competition, which brought together seven nations that did not qualify for the big final tomorrow, was decided in a jump-off after the Netherlands and Australia ended tied with four points each. Dutch rider Willem Greve, riding Highway Tn, completed the jump-off without penalties, while Australian Christopher Burton, aboard Chedington Hazy Toulana, accumulated four points, securing the victory for the Netherlands. Jur Vrieling (Long John Silver 3 N.O.P.), Kim Emmen (Inflame Go), and Maikel van der Vleuten (Beauville Z N.O.P) completed the winning team, led by team manager Jos Lansink.

In the third position of the Longines Challenge Cup, the team from Mexico secured their place, which they could have won if Nicolás Pizarro (Pia Contra) had completed his round without penalties. Argentina finished in fourth place, while the Spanish team ended in fifth position, followed by Italy and Uzbekistan.

Harrie Smolders won the Queen’s Cup- Segura Viudas Trophy

Dutch Harrie Smolders, riding Deesse de Kerglenn, convincingly clinched victory in the Queen’s Cup – Segura Viudas Trophy, with a winning round. Out of the 48 riders who entered the competition, 12 of them qualified for the second round. In this round, Harrie Smolders clocked a time of 51.38 seconds, outpacing Italian Piergiorgio Bucci (Hantano) by one and a half seconds, and Frenchman Olivier Robert, riding Iglesias D.V., by nearly two seconds.

Sakongo Reverter went first in the Negrita Cup
The day began with the victory of Sakongo Reverter, riding Beetle Juice, in the Negrita Cup. The Catalan rider, who trains at the Real Club de Polo, was the fastest in the RC Polo’s Olympic arena. American rider Alexandra Crown (Dorothy Dh Z) claimed the second position, while Maria Xercavins secured third place riding Girbau Jamaica.

The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final will start tomorrow at. 15.00 h.
