Two Winners Unlock Big Prizes from Vita Flex at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival and the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival
Wellington, FL (April 8, 2014) – “When I put the key in and it opened, I got goose bumps. It was great,” dressage rider Paula Matute said about the key that matched the lock of a Vita Flex prize trunk at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival on March 14, 2014. Young rider Isabella Sica shared Matute’s excitement when she unlocked the prize trunk at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival the next day. All riders who won a class at either the Adequan Global Dressage Festival or the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida were given a key along with their winning ribbon. Every rider hoped that their key would be the one to open the Vita Flex trunk filled with equestrian products.
Vita Flex brings a fun twist to horse showing with the tack trunks it offers at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival and the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival. Each class winner of ADGF and WEF were given the opportunity to find out if they were the lucky rider whose key fit the lock of a Vita Flex trunk this past weekend. One key unlocked the trunk at the Global Dressage Festival on Friday March 14, and one unlocked the trunk at the Winter Equestrian Festival on Saturday March 15. The two winners are now the proud owners of the beautiful trunks and all the Vita Flex products that were inside.
The winner of the Vita Flex trunk at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival was the talented dressage rider Paula Matute. She was happy with her ride on the day that the Vita Flex trunk would be unlocked, and plans to continue improving her riding in the future. “We’ll keep working, read the comments, and try to get better,” she stated.
Matute’s successful show season led to quite a collection of keys by this Friday, so she hoped that one of them might be the one to open the trunk. “We tried a lot [of keys], because we’ve been showing all season, and we were just looking forward to this moment because we had so many keys and we thought that we were going to get it.” At first, it didn’t look like a key was going to match for Matute. “We tried all of them and none of them worked, so we were thinking maybe if we get more horses to keep showing for next season maybe we would get the key.” She laughed. “I wasn’t really expecting it to open it and get the prize this time.” To Matute’s surprise, one of her keys unlocked the trunk at last. “It was really fun.”
Matute loved the idea of winning keys with the mystery of not knowing which one was the key that would work. “It was such a great atmosphere with everyone here trying the keys. It was just fun. We should do it more often.”
The winner of the Vita Flex trunk at the FTI Contsulting Winter Equestrian Festival on Saturday March 15 was young Isabella Sica from Richfield, Connecticut. She travels to Wellington with her entire family during show season. Her family is just as involved in the equestrian world as she is. They they train at Brigadoon Show Stables, owned by Lainie Wimberly, a training facility for horses and riders of all skill levels.
“I’ve been showing on my pony—his name is Virginia Gentleman.” Sica said. Sica and Virginia Gentleman won two keys while showing in the Large Children’s division. Sica was not the only one in her family to do well at the Winter Equestrian Festival. All together, she and her family won nearly 100 keys.
When it was time to unlock the Vita Flex trunk at the Winter Equestrian Festival, a long line of key winners formed behind it in hopes that their key would be the lock’s match. Sica wore her lucky belt while she waited in line, growing more excited as her turn to try the lock approached. The lucky belt must have helped her out—one of Sica’s two keys fit the lock. Sica was happy to win the Vita Flex trunk, and was even more enthusiastic about the tack trunk itself than the products inside. “It’s a really nice trunk!” she said. Sica plans to share her prize with a fellow equestrian—her sister.
