Vilhelmson-Silfvan Named Custom Saddlery MVR (Most Valuable Rider) At 2013 Global Dressage Festival

Wellington, FL (February 15, 2013) – Consistency. It’s the hallmark of peak performance in a horse-and-rider partnership and why Custom Saddlery recognized top Swedish rider Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvan with its Most Valuable Rider (MVR) Award after back-to-back solid performances on Antonia Axson Johnson’s Divertimento in the $6,000 FEI Grand Prix and FEI Grand Prix Freestyle during the Florida Dressage Classic CDI of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington. Presenting sponsor, Tim Dutta, chairman of The Dutta Corp., observed, “Good riders and horses at the top of this sport come here. This is the beginning of a great season.”Custom Saddlery recognized top Swedish rider Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvan with its Most Valuable Rider (MVR) Award after back-to-back solid performances on Antonia Axson Johnson’s Divertimento in the $6,000 FEI Grand Prix and FEI Grand Prix Freestyle during the Florida Dressage Classic CDI of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington. Vilhelmson-Silfven praised her horse’s self-assurance in front of Wellington’s electric atmosphere. “It’s been amazing, you can almost feel the crowd breathing with you.” And it was by little more than a whisper that the pair finished second (70.319%) on Thursday in the $6,000 FEI Grand Prix to Canada’s David Marcus, riding Chrevi’s Capital (70.340%). With a long-term eye on qualifying the German-bred for the World Cup, they returned on Friday for the Grand Prix Freestyle, nailing a solid 72.350% from the judges to again earn reserve honors.

“Making the World Cup Final in my hometown of Gothenburg would be very nice,” Vilhelmson-Silfven said. “Then there are the European Championships in August.” Fortunately, the Custom Saddlery MVR saved room among her honors to also carry her new Custom Saddlery saddle pad back to the barn.

At the conclusion of the circuit, her name will be among to the roster of 2013 Custom Saddlery MVR’s qualified for the MVR Grand Prize: a new saddle from the company respected for a quarter of a century as one of the most innovative saddle makers in the dressage world. Selection as a Custom Saddlery MVR puts a rider in such elite company as U.S. Olympic Dressage veterans Steffen Peters, Heather Blitz, Sue Blinks, and Shannon Dueck.

Custom Saddlery has been recognizing Most Valuable Riders at prestigious dressage shows all season, including the Adequan Global Dressage Festival and Gold Coast Dressage series. For more information on Custom Saddlery visit their website at www.mysaddle.com
