Will Simpson WINS AT LIVE OAK INTERNATIONAL ABOARD Keminko N. WHILE Chester C. Weber TAKES THE TOP SPOT ON THE FOUR-IN-HAND MARATHON PHASE
Will Simpson speeds to victory with Keminko N in the CSI 4*-W $32,000 LIVE OAK INTERNATIONAL Jump-Off taking home the top honors for the day.
Will Simpson and Keminko N came away first, around two tracks designed by German course designer Olaf Petersen Jr. with a jump-off time of 38.73 seconds, Will was the fastest in a jump-off of 6 competitors.
“He (Keminko) is a very green horse, just getting started in his FEI career, but he really fights for it. Anyway, I think I lucked out and had a course that was suitable to him today but it was truly fantastic jumping here at Live Oak International.”
Second place went to Aaron Vale and Styles with a jump-off time of 39.44 seconds. And third spot went to Chloe D. Reid and her mount Chelsea 179 with a jump-off time of 39.50, narrowly missing out on the second spot.
Chester C. Weber had spectators watching with bated breath as he navigated the marathon obstacles, driving to victory in the FEI Four-in-Hand Marathon Phase at Live Oak International. The win puts him one step closer to his 21st National Championship title.
Kicking off the third day of competition at Live Oak International, the Driving Marathon didn’t disappoint the gallery of spectators who came out and travelled from hazard to hazard to watch the drivers give it their all.
Chester C. Weber and his team of horses Amadeus, Gouveneur, Kadora, Nico Teusje C worked as a unit to clinch the win today. With the first obstacle, Couture Lifestyle Homes Water Hazard proving to have lots of atmosphere and added excitement for horses and drivers alike, Weber worked to navigate through an exciting and thrilling Marathon course.
Winning today’s CSI 1* $5,000 MANESTREAM LOGISTICS Grand Prix were 18-year-old I&H Boogy Woogy and America’s very own Abigail Mc Ardle with a speedy round in a time of 42.23 seconds. In a close second place was Tori Corts aboard 18-year-old Bonjovi with a jump-off time of 44.59. Cordiamo and Dermott Lennon were third with a time of 45.09 seconds in the jump-off with his 8-year-old gelding.
In the FEI2* Horse Single, Andrew Marcoux won the day with his team. The FEI2* Pony Single was a tight contest today with all five competitors being within 6 points of each other but it was Canada’s Alexia Guillemette who took the top spot. Colton Parker was number one in the FEI2* Pony Pair. While Taylor Bradish was first in the FEI3* Horse Single out of a tough class of 13 competitors.
FEI3* Pony Single was won by Sarah Reitz with the FEI3* Pony Pair going to Yannik Scherrer, bringing a European victory representing Switzerland. Intermediate Horse Single went to Suzy Stafford in a difficult and competitive class.
Cindy Cullinane was the top driver in the Intermediate Horse Single Para today. With Intermediate Pony Single going to Janelle Marshall, representing Australia. Intermediate Horse Pair went to Jennifer Johnson of Barboursville Virginia out of a class of four drivers. While Liz Murray managed to take the Intermediate Pony Pair today. Closing out the adult divisions was the Intermediate Pony small Pair which was won by Elizabeth Keathley.
Ben Riesse continued his winning ways by taking the Youth Division 12 and under today in a stunning display. The Youth Division 13-16 went to Ocala, Florida’s very own Sarah Batstone Roberts, putting on a fantastic display in front of this local crowd.
The competition continues with the exciting CSI 4*-W $200,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Ocala presented by Lugano Diamonds.
