World Equestrian Center – Ocala Announces Two Additional 2022 International Dressage Dates

The World Equestrian Center – Ocala will host two additional international dressage competitions in 2022. Following a very successful week in Ocala that saw more than 220 national and international competitors and well-received Fédération Equestre International (FEI) classes held in the Grand Arena, the new CDI3* shows will be held on September 15-18 and November 17-20. The 2022 series of dressage shows, which now includes three CDIs along with 11 USEF/USDF-rated shows, is presented by Hampton Green Farm and Discover Dressage.

“We are very pleased to welcome back international dressage riders to World Equestrian Center in Ocala this fall,” said WEC CEO Roby Roberts. “Exhibitor response to our CDI competitions has been encouraging. Last week showed that dressage riders enjoy and want to support more international sport at WEC.”

Kim Van Kampen of Hampton Green Farm remarked, “It is very exciting to have more international dressage competition planned for 2022 at World Equestrian Center – Ocala. We want to help support and grow the sport of dressage in the U.S. and believe that these shows will bring dressage to a wider audience and give riders more opportunities to experience FEI competition.”

Some of the reviews from competitors at last week’s CDI include:

Grand Prix Freestyle winner Benjamin Ebeling: “It’s a fantastic show grounds, and I’ve been so excited to come and see it. This really provides a great space for atmosphere.”

Small tour three-time winner Anna Marek: “The arena is just huge and magnificent. It was awesome, and it feels like you’re at a world-class event. It’s pretty incredible that I come here to show, and I feel like I’m in a completely different world, but then I can go home 15 minutes away.”

Grand Prix Freestyle runner-up Alice Tarjan: “It’s the first time I’ve competed here, and the facility is amazing. It was absolutely fantastic. It’s like a real horse show grounds where you can hand walk them through the trees, there are grass and birds and a natural environment for the horses. It’s a great environment for them.”

Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special winner Katie Duerrhammer: “The ring itself, you walk in and it’s incredible. The footing is amazing. The facility, the way it’s run, the footing, the stabling, you can’t beat it. It’s really spectacular.”

National dressage competition was held at WEC – Ocala in January, February, March, and April. Remaining dressage dates serving as official qualifying competitions for the 2022 Great American/USDF Regional Championships are:

Dressage XIV | 08/26/22
