(September 10, 2012) – Olympian Lisa Wilcox and 2012 Intermediaire I National Dressage Champion Caroline Roffman, both members of the Vita Flex Victory Team, cruised to victory at the U.S. Developing Horse Championships in Wayne, Illinois. Wilcox and Roffman, who have lengthy resumes between them, rode away victorious at the championships designed for rising American Grand Prix horses.

Wilcox rode Horses Unlimited’s nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion, Pikko del Cerro HU, (Pik L- Rohweena by Rohdiamant) to his second Developing Horse National Championship title. The American bred stallion came up through the ranks of the Young Horse Division with Mikayla Gundersen. Horses Unlimited is owned by Anne Sparks, a firm believer in the Young Horse and Developing Horse program.

Pikko del Cerro HU earned the inaugural USEF Developing Grand Prix National Championship title, which was supported by Hilda Gurney and Carol Lavell. Pikko’s win comes on the heels of his 2011 National Developing Horse Prix St. Georges Championship win. Wilcox was thrilled with Pikko during the show, including the fact that he took home the Top U.S. Bred Horse award as well.

Tanner Clark, Product Manager for Vita Flex Nutrition, said, “Vita Flex Nutrition is thrilled that Lisa and Caroline are in the national spotlight. We are proud to watch them represent the United States at these national championships, and equally proud that they are part of the Vita Flex Victory Team.”

Roffman rode away with the National Developing Horse Prix St. Georges Championship, the title Pikko del Cerro won in 2011, aboard Her Highness O. The Prix St. Georges division was the most competitive of the show and Roffman rode the mare to the top of the standings. Her Highness O (by Hohenstein X Weltmeyer) is owned by Roffman and Jennifer Lind and is a nine-year-old Hanoverian mare.

While Roffman is not a stranger to the Young and Developing Horse Championships, Her Highness was competing on new ground. Roffman said, “This was only her fourth horse show ever and Her Highness is also new to the Prix St. Georges level.”

“Our Victory Team riders are among the best in the world; many have Olympic and World Championship experience, and have been competing at the highest level in their sport. Lisa and Caroline deserve to be congratulated for such a tremendous showing at the Markel/USEF National Horse Dressage Championship,” Clark said.

The Vita Flex Victory Team is comprised of many world-class riders, including jumper riders Lauren Hough, Todd Minikus and Patty Stovel and hunter rider Peter Lombardo. In addition to Wilcox and Roffman, other Dressage riders include Susie Dutta and Adrienne Lyle on the Vita Flex Victory Team. Other team members include eventer Jan Byyny, combined drivers Chester Weber and Suzy Stafford, barrel racers Tammy Fischer and Mary Ann Miller and reiners Bob Avila and Al Dunning.
