photography. The two linked up, with Yorn mentoring Oyefeso by helping her to further develop her photography skills, including guiding her through the process of paper selection and framing. To teach the business side of being an artist, plans are in the works for Beth to assist in setting up an e-commerce site for Shola’s work on Etsy. In addition, one of Shola’s debut photographs of a horse and rider will be available during the silent auction at the upcoming Compton Jr. Posse 7th Annual Gala on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The proceeds from the artwork will go to benefit the Compton Jr. Posse program.

“Working with Beth has been really cool. She has helped continue to develop my eye for photography,” said Shola Oyefeso. “I’m very excited about the image I chose being a silent auction item for the CJP Gala and having my own Etsy store,” continued Oyefeso.

“I really enjoy working with CJP,” said Beth Yorn. “It’s an amazing program that exposes the students to experiences they otherwise might not have the opportunity to participate in. Being able to work one on one with students like Shola and to share my interests is very rewarding,” continued Yorn.
