Final Night of Polo in the Park This Saturday Morven Park Wraps Up Successful First Season
LEESBURG, VA – Morven Park will host its final night of the inaugural season of Polo in the Park at the Morven Park International Equestrian Center on Saturday, August 26, 2017.
The closing night of Polo in the Park will feature two matches, with one starting at 7 p.m. and the other starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. The gates will open for spectators at 6 p.m. Stone Tower Winery – the Official Wine Sponsor of Polo in the Park – will offer wine for sale by the glass or by the bottle, and Catoctin Creek Distilling Company will offer a signature cocktail, the Horse’s Neck, featuring whiskey made from rye grown on Morven Park’s organic fields. There will also be food vendors on-site.
During intermission between the two matches, children will be welcomed into the arena for tug-of-war, an activity that has proven to be extremely popular with families coming out for polo at Morven Park. A DJ will provide dance music in the pavilion tent immediately following the final polo match where attendees can dance until 11 p.m.
Polo in the Park attracted thousands of spectators this summer, adding a new fun nighttime activity for Loudoun County. Residents from across Northern Virginia have come to the Park on Saturday evenings to watch competitive arena polo matches, picnic and dance.
“We are thrilled with the turnout and community support for polo here at Morven Park,” says Stephanie Kenyon, Morven Park’s executive director. “It’s been a pleasure to work with internationally acclaimed players Juan Salinas-Bentley and Doug Barnes, and we’re already planning next season.”
